marty Nothing to activate, it already does this. If emails are not being sent it's more likely your server provider is blocking outgoing emails. You may need to contact them to allow email (or use something like the WP Mail SMTP plugin with a transactional email service).
nsgoyat Have a proper reverse DNS setup and a valid hostname on your server. Install --sendmail stack. Add proper MX, SPF, and _dmarc records. If still the outgoing emails aren't working well then you should ask your host if they have blocked Port 25 on the server (it's generally blocked by default by the service providers to avoid spam).
