WordOps and Discourse forum

Hi there! I want to run Discourse forum on subdomain with WordOps. Is it possible? I have WordPress site on my WordOps/server now so the question is can I install a Discourse forum on same server/same WordOps installation? Do I need some additional settings or configurations?

Have you given it a try already? If not then take a snapshot of your live server and deploy the snapshot to a staging server and proceed with the Discourse installation.

I haven't personally tried Discourse installation but I think it should work fine on the same server. I have used Plausible (docker based self-hosted analytics solution) on the same server along with WordOps sites and it worked fine for me.

EgorRevenga I followed the default Plausible installation process except for the SSL Creation. To generate the SSL Certificate & Configuration, I followed this guide: https://kb.virtubox.net/knowledgebase/install-lets-encrypt-ssl-certificates-acme-sh/

I am sure it can be accomplished using WordOps too like installing a site with --vhostonly and -le option and then changing the content of vhost with Plausible's official configuration.

You will need to keep the SSL configuration path generated by WordOps in the Server block of Vhost file:
include /var/www/plausible.example.com/conf/nginx/*.conf;

Hello EgorRevenga,
you have to not expose default ports 80 and 443 of your Discourse containers otherwise it will conflict with Nginx service. But if you set other ports like 1080 and 1443, you should be able to use wo site create forum.site.tld --proxy=127.0.0.1:1443 -le and WordOps will automatically setup a reverse-proxy secured with letsencrypt for your Discourse container.

nsgoyat just installed Plausible with the default installation process and everything works fine with WordOps. Btw, Plausible is a brilliant service!

VirtuBox Do I need to change WordOps configuration? Or I need just use --proxy=127.0.0.1:1443 -le param within creating new site and then install Discourse?
