Move website to wordops server without updating DNS

Hi,

Is it possible to move a website from one sever to a wordops server without updating the DNS of the website, so that I can verify that it works first? I have tried to create a website in wordops and then visit it from the server IP but I am not able to connect to the server from the server IP.

yes you can update your hosts file to test your site without updating DNS. Here a tutorial : https://pagely.com/kb/en/edit-hosts-file-wordpress/
But if your site is secured with a SSL certificate, it will require to generate a SSL certificate using the DNS API method.

I did create a wordpress site with wo and did edit the hosts file as the tutorial instructs. When I visit the IP address I only see the NGINX welcome screen. I do not see wordpress. What am I doing wrong?

My apologies. I was trying to visit the website using the ip address as I am accustomed to doing. I needed to visit the website using the domain name.
