This is almost a "philosophical" question. If you can't understand why a command line environment is better, then it probably is not the right tool for you. 🙂
Tools like cPanel are great for folks who can't or don't want to manage their own servers, but its ease of use comes at a price beyond monthly costs: performance.
Also, for command-line folks, cPanel hardens everything, making difficult to customize the server, and that's becomes a problem when you have more than a few boxes to manage.
