I have a problem, I installed wordops and Wordpress with fastcgi and redis only for the server and not for the wordpress instance. I have Cloudflare Proxy. unfortunately there is a redirect error. during the installation I indicated without www with SSL LE. The error:
This website uses URLs with www and non-www subdomain. This may cause duplicate content and bad links to your website.
If you use Cloudflare in front of your blog, you could create a page rule, something like:
I find it easier than changing Nginx configurations, and it's certainly faster since the first level cache can deal with the redirection without the need to interact with the backend.
the error comes with and without cloud flare
This is not an error, it's a message from Google Webmaster Tools.
Did you try and check I suggested, or are you just wondering that my suggested solution won't work at all?
it is not a message from google webmaster tools. from https://www.seobility.net/en/. i want to understand why the error comes and not at wordops.net as an example. So something does not have to be right in my configuration, because the error also comes without Cloudflare
As portofacil said, it's NOT an error. It's just a recommendation (i.e. "This may cause duplicate content...").
So, decide if you want to use www.yoursite.com or yoursite.com. Then use that everywhere, and redirect the one you aren't using to the one you are.
marty ok, i tried it. how do i go about redirecting everything to non www. unfortunately got several errors and once the page was no longer accessible
If you're only using WordPress then just set it correctly in WordPress itself (in General/Settings - both 'WordPress Address' and 'Site Address').
