hostname setup?

Hi,

Can someone explain how to set up hostname for my digitalocean server, this page tells that a valid hostname should look like: myservername.yourdomain.tld

Let's say that i created a digitalocean server and chose testops as hostname during droplet setup, and i got assigned 12.34.56.78 IP, and have a domain example.codes.

What should be the hostname, and how can i create it (please write the code)?

Hi, assuming this is an Ubuntu droplet just type 'hostnamectl set-hostname example.codes' in a ssh session. Reboot afterwards.

robertrud Thanks for helping out. Can you help me clarify one more thing, this page says that i would be able to access WordOps backend via:

with server IP
https://YOUR.SERVER.IP:22222 >> https://12.34.56.78:22222

with server hostname
https://server.site.tld:22222 >> ??

with a domain hosted on the server
https://site.tld:22222 >> https://exampe.codes:22222

I get the first and third link for the backend, what would be the link for accessing the wordops backend with server hsotname according to my example?

In your case issue command:
wo site create example.codes -le

After that you'll be able to access https://example.codes:22222
