Why Senmail and not Postfix

I wonder why Sendmail is chooses instead of Postfix.

Sendmail is considered to perform poorly under load and be unsafe. Postfix, on the other hand, has a reputation for performing well under load and is created with safety in mind.

I prefer not to use a SMTP plugin but use Postfix as a satellite to SendGrid.

I was about to create a feature request, but thought I should ask first.

You can still use whatever you prefer - we use postfix. If you install it before WordOps, then WO won't even install SendMail.

Yes, I noticed when browsing WordOps source code that it doesn't install Sendmail if Postfix is already installed.

What I wonder is why Sendmail is chosen above Postfix. Was it a conscious choice? If so, what is the reason?

Being new to WordOps context (but not in WordPress operation), I want not barging in with a feature request or a pull request without first asking. I figure there might be a good reason which I don't yet understand.
